Others want to honor the memory of loved ones who died or salute those who are alive. Marvin Hochberg volunteers his efforts in memory of his wife Bobbie Kim Hochberg. The Rooney family and friends volunteer their efforts in memory of Brian Rooney. Shirlee and Jerry Schwam volunteer their efforts in memory of their daughter Deborah Bradus.	Supporters of the Lymphoma Foundation and clinician/scientists receiving grants from the Lymphoma Foundation were the first to make the effort to warn young women treated with radiation therapy for Hodgkin’s disease of their unique danger of developing breast cancer at an early age…in the hope that this warning would lead to early diagnosis and a heightened chance for a cure. This special effort was named the Marie Project Initiative in memory of Robert Castrignano's sister, Marie, who died with breast cancer. Others... volunteer their support and donations to honor the fact that they are alive and well, decades after receiving their cancer treatment.
We are no longer at the very beginning of the road to the cure of all forms of cancer --- we are well on our way --- and because of that fact we can now say that a major source of research support is from the cancer survivors themselves… and their friends and families. All of these efforts are propelling us onward toward a hundred percent success over the demon cancer.
