Brian's mother Mrs. Joan Rooney spoke
to the participants at the MEETING AREA on the East side of the 102nd
Street transverse in Central Park.
After the opening remarks by Mrs.
Rooney and remarks by Andrew Bresnahan the walkers, runners, children, and their pets
lined up at the starting line and got ready to go.

COURSE: 3 miles. Walkers could
also
choose a shorter 1-mile course. Both courses started and finished on the East
side of 102nd Street. THE RUN/WALK STARTED at 10 am Saturday, May
22nd on a warm, hazy, sunny day.

POST-RACE: Delicious food and other refreshments
were enjoyed after the
race at Snapper Creek, 1589 First Avenue (between 82nd and 83rd Streets).

T-SHIRTS were adorned with the 2004 Brian Rooney
Run/Walk logo

In preparation and during the 'race' Tricia and Andrew
Bresnahan, the Coordinators of the Brian Rooney Run/Walk, had one moment of
relaxation to have their picture taken... but later at Snapper Creek they
were able to 'unwind' and spend some more time with Colin.
